Burry Longhouse

This traditional half-timbered Gower Longhouse,
believed to date back to the 15th Century, is just 20 minutes
from the M4 Junction 47, Swansea and The Mumbles, and is within
easy reach of all the bays (the nearest just two miles away).
It is ideally situated to enable you to enjoy all the pleasures
of the Gower peninsula, Britain's first designated area of
outstanding natural beauty.
For those who would like the option of
exploring further afield the Pembrey Country Park, Kidwelly
Castle, Dan Yr Ogof Caves and the Welsh National Museum are
a few of the attractions within just one hours journey by
car.
Located in the hamlet of Burry Green, surrounded
by the unspoiled Gower countryside, the Longhouse is sited
within the grounds of Burry Court and overlooks 3 acres of
peaceful landscaped gardens, with lawns, orchard and rockeries
containing many exotic shrubs. This proves to be a source
of pleasure for our guests at all seasons of the year.
The traditionally decorated spacious property
is comfortably furnished with gas central heating and carpeted
throughout. There are three entrances, the main one is to
the kitchen via an outside staircase, the second is to the
living room (3 interior steps) and the third is to the main
bedroom (5 interior steps).
LIVING ROOM
The spacious (4m x 7.5m) high beamed living
room has an exposed stone open fireplace which burns logs
and coal (provided on request). The living room is conveniently
divided by a small split in level with a lounge area at one
end and a dining area at the other end. The furniture and
fittings, chosen to make our guests feel at home, include
a colour television and VCR/DVD, bookcase with a selection
of novels and books on Gower, three piece lounge suite, dining
table, chairs, and sideboard which contains a full selection
of china, glass and cutlery.
BEDROOM 1
The double bedroom is well proportioned
(4m x 3.6m) and furnished in keeping with the period style
of the property. Bedroom 1 has a full bedroom suite with double
bed. The room can accommodate an additional folding bed or
a full size cot, which are available on request to suit your
requirements.
BEDROOM 2
Bedroom 2 is similarly well proportioned
(4m x 3.6m) and furnished in keeping with the period style
of the property. Bedroom 2 has a full sized twin beds, and
a bedroom suite. It can also accommodate an additional folding
bed or a full size cot, which are available on request to
suit your requirements.
KITCHEN/DINER
(4m x 3.4m):
This is located at the main entrance at
one end of the length of the Longhouse. It is fully fitted
with quality kitchen units together with a kitchen table and
chairs. There is an electric cooker with timer, microwave,
refridgerator and freezer. A full set of crockery cooking
utensils and cleaning products are provided and housed in
the built in kitchen units.
BATHROOM
Is fully fitted with a step-in shower,
wash hand basin and toilet.
